Project Overview

This Winchester project involved the installation of a bespoke garden entertainment room designed to create a dedicated social space within an established garden.

The brief focused on creating a room that could be used for entertaining and leisure, with enough flexibility to accommodate a games area, bar, and informal seating. The building was positioned to sit naturally within the garden and open outward to maximise the sense of space

Planning & Design Considerations

The garden room was designed to fall fully within permitted development guidelines. With an internal floor area kept below 30 square metres, the structure did not require planning permission, allowing the project to proceed without delay.

The layout and proportions were carefully considered to maintain a clean, low-profile appearance while providing a generous internal space suitable for social use.

Materials & Specification

The garden room was finished with anthracite aluminium fenestration, including double three-pane bifold doors across the front elevation. This allows the entire frontage to open fully, creating a strong connection between the internal space and the garden.

Externally, the building is clad in smooth olive green composite cladding, selected for its clean appearance and low-maintenance finish. This was paired with matching wood-grain olive green composite decking, creating a cohesive and considered external palette.

To complete the scheme, the building was complemented by a light-coloured patio, carefully chosen to contrast with the darker tones of the cladding and fenestration. This contrast helps define the building within the garden while softening the overall look and enhancing the outdoor setting.
